Appealing your Taxes. Get the Facts..

By

Some homeowners in Monmouth Ocean and Middlesex Counties believe that the tax assesment on their property is unfair and unreasonable.

Many owners in this area have appealed the taxes and have had success based on the domino effect caused when one homeowner is granted the appeal and others in the identical tax bracket folow suit.

But in order to succeed at this, its not just as simple as wanting lower taxes. Like anything else it is a process and due dilligence is key here.

If you can prove that comparable properties have sold for less than the subject property then your chances of being approved are much higher.

In New Jersey, your new assessment is effective for three years. If your appeal is initially rejected and you feel like the assessment remains unfair or incorrect, the appeal can be taken all the way to the New Jersey Supreme Court.
