Wow! Keller Williams agents were given the opportunity to tour the newly opened Montage Deer Valley and we were not disappointed. If you are looking for the best ski in/out location in town, this is it. It is adjacent to Empire Lodge with easy access to the Lady Morgan ski lift. This has always been my favorite part of the mountain to ski. It is heavily treed and has the groomed blue runs that I love. If you want to practice moguls but are not an advanced skier, "Lost Boulder" is a great run. But I digress.....Aside from its location, what really sets the Montage apart from its Deer Crest competitor is the culture. While the employees at the Deer Crest hotel act as though "high end" means "pretentious", the employees at Montage act as though pleasing their guests is the highest priority. That means you can expect excellent, friendly service without the attitude. The hotel spaces are well thought out. It is grand and elegant without being ostentatious or cold. The layout makes sense and it is easy to find your way around. Daly's Grill downstairs is sheer brilliance. Where else in Park City can you enjoy cocktails and a meal while your kids bowl, play wii and arcade games within eyesight. Upstairs at Apex restaurant the views are magnificent.
The View from Apex Bar @ Montage
The decor at Montage is classic and classy. In fact, the entire building looks like it has always been there. There is the just the right amount of rustic and raw material so that you know you are in the mountains, but you don't feel like you are in a "lodge". Even if you are not staying at the Montage, the ski access in is easy. You should definitely stop by for lunch or apres ski while on the slopes. I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time there. Oh-and by the way, if you are looking to buy a Residence at Montage, almost each one is unique. You can use their interior designer or your own. Prices are high for Park City standards, but if you act now, they are offering 20% off. Honestly, compared to the other ski in/out offerings at Empire, the Montage offers a great value. And, a Talisker Club Membership is available. After touring the Residences, my first thought was that I could easily live there. Let me know what you think of the Montage.
