Not long ago when I would head back to college from Vienna west to Interstate 81, you'd head straight out Interstate 66 west. The only problem was, I66 ended just 14 miles away in the sleepy crossroads town of Gainesville, Va. Gainesville is where I66, Rt29, Rt15, Rt55 and Rt17 all interconnect. My favorite trip would be to take Rt29 southwest through Warrenton, pickup Rt211 through Luray and on to I81. Gainesville was always our coffee and donut stop.
Gainesville has come a long way from those sleepy 1970's days. Gainesville and the surrounding area have become one of the fastest growing hubs in all of Washington DC. Large communities and the surrounding business's have brought 1000's of people and new prosperity to the area.
