Thinking of buying a condo on the Orange Line in Arlington, Virginia?

Arlington, Virginia is a vibrant active community made up of active, educated citizens who take leading role in their community.

It has an active group of civic associations, booming restaurant and retail industry, top ranked schools and easy access to public transportation.

Professionals working in DC or Arlington flock to the many condo buildings along the Orange Line Metro Corridor.  There are are quite a few gems, and a few are built and managed better than others.   Here are a few of my personal favorites and links to the listings currently active in these buildings:

Clarendon/Courthouse:

The Clarendon/Courthouse neighborhood has seen the most development over the past 10 years and is just brimming with activity.  The condos here tend to be a bit more expensive and smaller than the ones in Ballston.  Here are two of my favorites, although they are very different communities.

Rhodes Hill Square - This community is one of the newer ones in Arlington, and offers a nice break from the high rises that are so common.  It features tall ceilings, deluxe kitchens and a cool urban design.  Built by Waterford Development, they are in their last phase of sales and are open most weekends for tours.  Prices here currently range from the high 700s to low 800s for two level townhouse like condos.

The Williamsburg - This community was built in 1992, so not the newest, but one of the best.   The location is just fabulous - tucked away on N. Wayne St but literally a block from Whole Foods and all the Clarendon Shops.   This is a quality built building, most units have brick balconies, marble foyers and walk in closets.   There is currently one unit on the market, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath listed at $565,000. One bedrooms are usually offered in the high $300s.

Ballston/Virginia Square:

Lexington Square - This is my personal favorite in the high rise segment, based on looks, what you get for your money, price, location and parking.  It is one of the few buildings that makes it easy for guests to visit.  There are 15 minute spaces in front for dropping off and picking up and tons of metered spots in front as well.   It has a full sized pool, nice gym, storage and ample sized parking spaces.  There are currently two listed here:  My listing 3830 9th St North #108E for $319,000 and and a 2 bedroom/2bath unit for $500,000.   Larger 3 bedrooms and penthouse units have recently sold here for over $700,000.

The Hawthorn - This community is squeaky clean and new, although the brand new models are closed out.   It offers luxury finishes such as solid wood cabinetry, granite countertops, hardwood floors.  Has an on site manager, business center and gym.   The units have a very homey feel, with larger balconies and smart floor plans.  The only ding on this place is no pool - most buyers in this segment want a pool.  There is currently only one listing on the market here, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath 1237 square foot model for $575,000.

There are many other great buildings and communities to choose from if you are looking to buy a condo along the Orange Line in Arlington.   Give me a call or email me to set up a consultation on how I can help you find the right place for your needs.
