One of the many reasons I love living in Franklin, NC is the awesome Highways and the back roads for riding motorcycles. I happen to ride a Harley but any kind of motorcycle enthusiast loves riding their bike's up here on the Great Smoky Mountains Parkway and Blue Ridge Parkway of NC.
Small creeks & waterfalls abound throughout the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and its a short drive for me in Franklin, NC. You never get bored of riding through it. Every time we ride I am still in awe of the mountains.
A few places I would not want you to miss should you come for a visit is Newfound Gap overlook on the North Carolina side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Stop for a picnic at Chimneys picnic area whatever the weather in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Little Pigeon River in Chimneys picnic area in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The observation tower on top of Clingmans Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a MUST NOT MISS!

Here is a short video of a ride we went on the Blue Ridge Parkway and ended up in Cherokee, NC for a free concert to see Foreigner. Carol and I got to be at the front of the stage to watch the concert.
