Good morning Wasilla, Alaska! Sunrise in February
Not much to say, except that we live in a beautiful state. Here is what sunrise looks like in February.

Contrary to some of what we hear, it is NOT dark here all the time. As a matter of fact, we are gaining over 5 and a half minutes a day of sunlight. Yeah!

Denise, thank you! This is what we woke up to this morning. It is really neat when the pink sky turns the mountains purple. There is nothing like it!
Mike, give us a call and we can send you some info. There is a lot to do on land also-you don't just have to take the cruises. We (Larry & I) also own some cute vacation rentals if the need arises. :) They are in Wasilla near just about everything. We are just starting this venture but here is the 'Alaska Dreams' cabin. You have many options to choose from!
Jim, we think so too, but we are slightly biased. Let us know when you would like some information. We collect it for our relocation packages anyway and we could send some your way too! As far as daylight goes, we are at a whopping 9 hours and 56 minutes today. Sunrise 8:16AM and sunset at 6:12PM. We cannot wait for summer when we can go fishing at midnight and still see as if was afternoon.
DeeDee, thank you! We have so many mountain pictures it is goofy. You would think we would get used to it but you never do. With the light changing (sunset, sunrise, shadows, moon etc) they turn colors. Browns, whites, blues, pinks and purples. It is just gorgeous!

FABULOUS photo - I love the vertical aspect of the mountains, something we only get with buildings here in Florida...
Carol, we appreciate the compliment! There are not a lot of tall buildings in Alaska to block the views. I remember when I was in Jr High and Palmer (a sister town about 13 miles from Wasilla) had a big hullabaloo about the golden arches of that popular hamburger place.
There was an argument about how tall the arches could go because they townsfolk did not want the view of Pioneer Peak getting blocked. Really, why would anyone want to block this view? Crazy!
They ended up shortening the height of the arches.

Thank you Mary! We walked into our front room last night and both commented on how light it was outside. I even have buds on my 5 foot tall rhubarb starting. I am terribly excited!
