New Attractions Coming to Myrtle Beach 2011

Everyone has heard the buzz about new attractions coming to Myrtle Beach. 2011 will be a big year for the Grand Strand, as the area is adding many new attractions and activities to the area. Tourists will be flocking to the new Boardwalk for the Land Shark Bar & Grill Restaurant as well as the brand new Sky Wheel! The Surfside show "Legends in Concert" will be moving to the more centralized Myrtle Beach area. The Legends concert will replace what was the Club Kryptonite building outside of the Broadway at the Beach. Below is a complete list of fun activities you should be sure not to miss this summer!

7- The Pat Boone Family Theatre

The Pat Boone Family Theatre will be replacing what was the old NASCAR Speed Park Building. The Pat Boone Family Theatre will be named after the legend Pat Boone himself and will host a variety of different shows, a majority being magic shows.

6- Hooray for Hollywood

The Hooray for Hollywood show will be playing at the Palace Theatre just outside Broadway at the Beach. The show will offer some of the best songs from the Broadway productions of "Singing In The Rain" and "The Lion King". Call the Palace Theatre for showtimes!

5- Legends in Concert

The original Legends show that was housed in the Surfside area of the Grand Strand will move to the Club Kryptonite Building in Myrtle Beach off of 17 Bypass. Rumor has it that new acts will join the stage and the beloved Elvis will be making his appearances!

4- Land Shark Bar & Grill Restaurant

Jimmy Buffett opens another restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area! The Land Shark Bar & Grill will be built on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and will offer the Jimmy Buffett Land Shark Lager Beer as well as other cocktails and beach food. Sit on the oceanfront deck and dine while facing the wonderful Atlantic Ocean!

3- The Sky Wheel

The Sky Wheel will be the largest Ferris Wheel in America reaching a staggering 200 feet! There will be 42 climate-controlled seats that seat 6. There will also be a gift shop in which guests can purchase souvenirs.

2- The WonderWorks Museum

The Upside Down Building is being built in Myrtle Beach at Broadway at the Beach. Construction started in December and will finish up in the next month or two. The WonderWorks Museum will house plenty of attractions and exhibits fun for all ages including a NASA stimulation, a hurricane Stimulation, and lying on a bed of 3,500 nails!

1- The Pirates Voyage

The Dolly Parton Dixie Stampede is being reinvented into the Pirates Voyage! Sit down and enjoy a pirate feast as well as a pirate-themed show complete with action, comedy, and singing! The attraction will open on June 3rd of 2011. Dinner items include a cup of vegetable soup, bread, fried chicken, bbq pork, fried shrimp, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and apple pie! The stage where the horses use to ride around will be taken out and renovated into a pool of water, where a life-size pirate ship will float out from behind scenes.
