What an amazing day it was last Friday in Arlington, VA. The temperature went up to 77, the sky was blue, the sun was shining. Everyone was out walking and enjoying the gorgeous weather, kids were playing soccer or baseball everywhere you looked. I feel so alive during days like today, and start wondering why don't I move to Southern California, for example, and enjoy this type of weather all the time.
The warm weather and the signs of spring in the air made me think of the Botanic Garden in Washington, DC. I love going there with my kids. The garden is divided in several very distinct areas, such as Garden Court, Jungle, World Dessert, Hawaii, Medicinal Plants, Orchids, Plant Exploration, West Gallery, Butterfly Garden (not much happening there at the moment), and few others.
It is truly a beautiful place at any time of the year, but of course even more lovely during spring or summer when the roses are in bloom, and butterflies are present in the garden outside. If you live in Arlington VA or close to Washington DC, make sure you stop by soon. If you live too far away to make a trip, please take a virtual tour to enjoy some of the wonderful views.
If your kids love plants, there are many wonderful programs for your budding botanists. Your kid can become an Apprentice Junior Botanist by asking for an Adventure Folder at the Botanic Garden. For details, please click here. And if you live in the area, make sure you visit this amazing place soon.
Have a fabulous weekend!
