Rapid City real estate market - stats and graphs March 2011
What? April already?? Some of you have probably been planting gardens and all sorts of stuff like that. We are having a hard time getting Spring to stick around. Couple inches of snow today. But you don't care about that...on to stats.
Interesting data this month.
In the preowned residential sector, more properties have been sold, but the days on market have been longer. My guess on that is the cold, snowy weather we have been having...not as many people want to jump out and look at houses. You would think that might affect the sales price, but the average sales price is above this time last year by a smidge.
And then new construction, which has been gaining ground like a house a fire, lost some momentum. Still have just about as many sales as last year (down some) with days on market being down considerably, but the average sales price took a 8% hit.
So we continue to truck along. Hoping for the nice Spring weather to stick around and get those buyers out and lookin'.
And no - I won't be planting a garden. We gave up on all that work. My son has one that he works on...that'll be good enough for us. :)
