What do you grab as the tornado sirens go off?

It's been a crazy morning here in Maryland.  Tornado sirens are not something that we hear as a matter of course so naturally when they start going off it is necessary to take action.

We have always been told to have an emergency kit put together in case of inclement weather.  As the sirens went off this morning, I was fully prepared.

I grabbed my briefcase stuffed with files that had titles I needed to review, my cell phone which enables me to have a "wireless hot spot" and my nook color so that I could communicate with my office via cell and via e-mail, and a carafe of coffee.

I DID NOT grab:

bottled water

necessary medication

a first aid kit

dried fruits, cereal or any other source of nutrition or any thing else that you are told to grab before you take shelter.

I had a singular focus this morning as month end comes to a close.  I have files that need to close and I need to make sure they get to closing on time.

I may need to rethink my priorities.

Stay safe! Having my title license, I hear ya about those files! Our grown kids in Nashville spent time in their basement yesterday with the tornado sirens screaming. Mother nature can be furious.

Thank you for your comment.  I pray that your family stays safe. I made it to the office safely.  Now if this weather would calm down and not kick my power off I am gonna get through this day just fine.
