A few warm days...

Put a few warm days together and the seasons change. Still not many flowers around but the weed department seems to be doing OK. They are supposed to be the enemy; how can such beauty raise so much ire.

After pulling up some of the offenders, I kept a few and placed them under my trusty low-power microscope. (It plugs directly into my laptop.)

Here we have a part of nature that I rarely observe. It appears to be begging to have its place in the order of my life. It takes so little space and is so finely defined.

Am I swayed? You bet!

Weeds have their rights! I can be their voice.

With this change of belief, I have saved myself a lot of bother, lots of nasty chemicals and hours of work. That was easy. No more yard work. Yay, a benefit already.

Equal rights for weeds.

Same here is Texas, we had some cold days last week but last two days have been very warm. I even mowed my yard first thing this morning, I'm much happier in hot weather than i am cold. some reason the cold makes me grouchy  haha

Hi Larry...There's so much truth in "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".  We find beauty when we want to see beauty.  Thank you for sharing these photos.  Hooray for the "flowering weeds".

Hi Larry, I love your flower pictures, even if they are weeds.  That reminds me of a small patch of wild petunias near FM 249 that I pass by almost everyday, but don't have a chance to photograph because there isn't really anyplace to park.  I guess I need to get out there soon before they stop blooming.

Tim - I suppose we can equate yard work with exercise, but lawn mowing sounds like encouraging it. ;-}

Kate - Walt Disney won me over when he took me inside a snowflake. With limited movement, I tend to observe up close. I have a miniature studio for photographing tiny things.

Liz - some of my best viewpoints are in the middle of freeways ~ I would certainly attract attention by stopping there. Hope you get to your petunias soon.
