Read Acts 11:19-26

For a whole year they met with the Church
and taught a large number of people,
and it was in Antioch that the disciples
were first called Christians.

Lord Jesus, thank you for stirring up the Spirit in the early believers so that we today can also be called Christians.  Continue to help my unbelief.

Our knowing Christ is based on a large part of our parents, and those who help form us in our early years.

I am so glad that I was brought up with Christian parents who took me to church, and that was faithful before God and lived a life of testimony before me. I can still remember my parents always having an open bible, reading a Sunday School lesson, praying before meals, but also praying for each other and myself along with my brother and sister. My parents never waivered in thier love and devotion to God. As I grew older, I wandered away from Church and God. My parents never said much to me about that, but I know they continued to pray for me. It worked! God answered their prayers, and I owe it to the prayers of my parents and the Holy Spirit of course. Although my parents have both passed away many years ago, I can still see them in my mind at the kitchen table reading and praying together. That is a habit that my wife and I have done now for the last 15 years or so every morning.

I am so happy to have had loving parents who taught me valuable lessons on how to live for Christ, to stay in Church, and to have Christian friends. Learning to trust in Him!

Rejoicing Always in Christ,

Paul
