Failure is Only the Opportunity to Begin Again...

Failure is Only the Opportunity to Begin Again...'Failure is Only the Opportunity to Begin Again... More Intelligently.'  I love this quote by Henry Ford.  How many times have you failed... only to pick up the pieces and begin again?  For some of us... it's daily.

I'm a risk-taker by nature... and a bit of a thrill seeker too.  The whole 'nothing ventured, nothing gained' thing was written just for me.  I'm not sure why... but I thrive in the midst of change and uncertainty.  I love variety, challenges and different points of view.  It's what makes life so interesting and engaging.

I have failed at many things and I recognize my weaknesses.  The good news is... I'm okay with failure.  I set the bar high, not in comparison with others, but competing only with myself.  My standards increase in incremental doses and I measure my achievements in baby steps.  Sometimes it's two steps forward and one step back... but always seeking a forward motion.  Rarely am I a fence post sitter.

Failure is not a bad thing.  It can be a terrific motivator to reach new heights.  It's the 'more intelligently' part that requires careful consideration.  Moving forward haphazardly and without a road map can prove to be disastrous.  That's the great thing about history... it affords us the opportunity to look back and learn from our mistakes.  It also provides a wonderful bird's eye view of the future.

Failure is Only the Opportunity to Begin Again... More Intelligently.

There are many ways to do things. Some are better than others. Failure usually teaches us that we haven't found a better way, yet.

Meliinda, I totally understand your take on beginning again.

Yours is a less military point of view. Many decision ultimately carry alot of weight and will there always be the chance to begin again? Is there always tomorrow?

I'm just sayin'...

Funny boy Charles... I actually do have curly hair with a few red highlights... and I'm related to a very famous family of singers.  Call me Annie or Pollyanna... I'm a simple girl who remains very optimistic about life and I'm a huge believer in do-overs!

Fail, fail, fail, succeed! It is a cycle and if anyone ever says they have not failed, obviously will never reach their full potential. I will fail again but will continue on like you Melinda!
