(Almost) Speechless Sunday - Memorial Day Tribute

Amazing picture.  Its so sad to think that each of those markers is someone who gave their life for our country.

This kind of tribute gives me pause, Elizabeth. Sometimes the meaning of these holidays gets missed and it's people like you that show us the path back.  Thank you.

So many people have paid the ultimate price in service of their country.  Their sacrifice and the sacrifice of their families need to be memorialized.  Your post makes us pause and reflect and honor them.

Elizabeth, I certainly remember being in this cemetery throughout my years in Washington, D.C. Your quotes tell the rest of the story for so many lives lost. The remind of this Native American proverb - "Silence has so much meaning" - from the Yurok tribe.

No matter how many times I see pictures of Arlington Cemetery it still commands reverence.

I have to say that Arlington Cemetery is such a symbol of our country's sacrifice.  It is hard to walk through it without shedding a tear...
