Chicken Proof Garden
People coming to Kauai always love to see the chickens running around. One of the past times is to feed them. Oh they love that! The males have huge egos and crow at the sight of light. Sometimes I think there is a race to see who can get the first crow in. They have no respect for people that are used to hearing them at sunrise! By sunrise here on Kauai they have there work done before sunrise.
Chickens being chickens scratch in newly planted grass seed, new flower beds and vegetable gardens. Our first garden had just bloomed and we anticipated getting our fresh vegetables.
The next morning, we awoke to the "scratching" noise and found a bunch in the garden. They had eaten the blooms and uprooted some of the seedlings! So - I had a dream about a chicken proof garden. Yes, chicken proof. In my dream I was at the local Home Depot and bought some pvc pipe, some t-posts, plastic wind break fencing and bird netting. I built, and have not patented, a chicken proof garden. If you have bird or varmint problems try this chicken proofing technique.
