Saturday was extremely hectic and yet a very proud day for dad...and Conor Loynd
Conor's graduation was first thing on the agenda. His Senior Awards and Honors: Academic Jacket for being on the Honor roll all four years, Outstanding Achievement in Advance Calculus, Outstanding Achievement in Advances Biology, President Obama's Outstanding Academic Achievement award, and a sports recognition for Being the Captain of the Cross Country and Track Teams.
....After Graduation the Race, Literally a race to get to the State meet of Champions...top runners from all schools competing for their final race of the year (with the top five in each going to the New England regional competing for top honors in all 6 states next weekend).
Conor Had three events to run (disqualified in his 4th event... the triple jump last week...for two foot faults, having had the 3rd best distance in the state going in to the meet last week), First event was the 4 X 800 Relay his team took 3rd in the state, Next Race the individual 400 meter coming 2nd in the state, the last race of the day (about 7 pm) the team missed the top 5 by two spots in the 4 x 400). So on to new englands next week. SO PROUD!!
Today, we are having a large gathering for Conor and his friends...and it all starts in half an hour...
Thank you all so much in advance for your well wishes, I may not respond to your comments today but please accept my appreciation for your friendship and the joy I feel today for this fine young man. Love Dad.
