Pay it Forward - Helping San Antonio’s Children
I have always understood that our children represent 100 percent of our future, and they need our love and support to help them through their adolescent years. We have to take the lead as parents, mentors, or guardians to see that our children are well cared for physically and spiritually.
Many of us may have supported various programs around the country and around the world for all the children in need of food, clothing, education, etc. But, what about those children in our own local areas and communities. San Antonio has such a program which benefits all the needed children in our city. My local credit union supports and accepts donations for the Children of San Antonio.
Yesterday, while I was at the my credit union, Security Service Federal Credit Union, I was given the opportunity to reach out and make a donation to support our Children in San Antonio. These generous donations from all the credit union members go on to support the Children’s Shelter, ST. PJ’s, Childsafe, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
All of those small contributions from the membership will go a long way to bring a nice smile to a child, and to insure that they have that opportunity to make a difference in our world and our future. Children are the future, and they need our love and support.
Jerry, you're a good man. I'll tell you a funny story.... I was at Bill Miller to purchase a breakfast taco and a drink, about $3.50. I accidentally left my debit card at home and don't use credit cards. I had $2 on me. I apologized to the cashier and said I would have to pass on breakfast today; I had appointments so I wouldn't be able to come back. She offered to pay for it... I told her not to worry about it... she insisted because she was "paying it forward." Granted, I'm not poor by any means but none-the-less it was a very kind thing to do. It's my turn.
Hi Jerry! Those children in the photo are adorable. All children should be as happy as these two seem to be.
Hi Cathy, We never know when our time comes to "Pay it Forward". That was very nice of the cashier to offer to pay for your breakfast. I know you will return the favor when the opportunity comes.
Yes, Ann, I thought the same thing when I first saw them too. I loved to see smiles on children's faces.
Jerry Pay It Forward is truly the American Way - thank you for caring about children
Jerry-Nice sentiment. There are so many needs and so many opportunities to help. Nice to see some of the efforts are helping those close to us. Thanks.
Hi Karen, I have always believed in supporting and helping our children. If we train our children, they will become the next leaders since they are the future.
Yes, Wayne. It was nice to see my credit union was sponsoring and supporting the Children of San Antonio. i was glad to be able to do my small part too.
My sister-in-law is a foster mom, works in a children's hospital and is clearly an angel on Earth for kids.
Hi Todd, Your sister-in-law is truly a blessing to all the kids in the Children's hospital where she works. I commend her for all her efforts and contributions for helping and supporting the children in her community.
Jerry, I always find it heart warming when a business takes the time to raise money for the underprivileged. It sounds like you bank at a wonderful credit union.
Thanks for reminding us how important it is to donate to children's groups. As you said, they are our future.
Yes, Sondra, Security Service Federal Credit Unions in one of the BEST in my book, and they do a Great Job raising funds for children in our community.
