A Wish List From Fort Bend County Area Non Profit Organizations (June 2011)
Local Non Profit Organizations in Fort Bend could always use the support and help of the community. Below are a few local organizations who are asking for assistance in our area:
CAREFORCE, an organization with members in the Missouri City area that helps fly financially needy people to get required medical treatment, is in need of forgotten, dormant and unused Continental Airlines One Pass Frequent Flyer Miles to fly patients from areas outside North and Central America and the Caribbean. Asians Against Domestic Abuse (AADA), P.O. Box 420776, Houston, TX 77242, helps victims from many Asian communities and is in need of a multi-function copier for the office, office small refrigerator, Dell 7Y743 and 7Y745 ink cartridges, laptops and cash donations. Contact AADA at 713-974-3743.
The Fort Bend County Women's Center needs the following items: Crib sheets, baby wipes, diapers - sizes 3, 4, 5, 6, infant socks, pacifiers, towels - washcloths, face towels, body towels (purple or white if possible), bleach, disinfectant sprays, Comet/Ajax; Clorox wipes; dish soap; laundry detergent (Ivory and Dreft for infants); ethnic hair products (relaxers, pink oil moisturizers, hair dressing, spritz hair spray, etc); baby Oragel; children's Benadryl (allergy); children's Motrin; children's Tylenol; Cough suppressant and decongestant; Exama cream; Pedialyte.
Donations can be dropped off at any of the Women's Centers three PennyWise Resale Center locations: PennyWise Richmond - 1120 Hwy. 90A; PennyWise Stafford - 13945 Murphy Road; and PennyWise Mission Bend (Houston) - 6808 Hwy. 6 South.
Child Advocates of Fort Bend, 5403 Avenue N in Rosenberg, needs gift cards to Target and Wal-Mart to purchase emergency supplies for children served by the agency, diapers, baby bottles and teen clothing. The agency only accepts new items. Contact Cindy Anderson at 281-344-5100.
