Time Management

Do you manage time or does your time manage you? Is the whole concept of managing time a ridiculous notion as the amount of time available is never changing. What if we look at it as do you manage your tasks or do they manage you? Now that sounds more doable. If only the word 'no' came easy when someone or something needs our attention! For instance, here I am on a weekend vacation, the only one I will get this year, reading blogs and posting blogs, checking email, and updating my social media pages (follow us on facebook and Twitter please). What do you do to manage tasks?

I'm afraid I have to disagree, time is manageable.  We have 24 hours and what we do with it determines our success.  I am a big advocate of routine.  If you establish a routine for activities that are important to you, they will get done.

Charles,

I am in the same boat...well, not really, I am NOT on vacation, but wished I was!

I think I could manage my time better if I took some time...alone, or with a group of others that wanted 2 minutes to think through their goals and fine tune them into a better plan, a working plan.

I have a friend that 3 times a year, she goes away and revisits her business plan, rewrites it if necessary, rechecks her 5 and 10 year goals to see if she is on target and than comes back and goes into action. She has her time off with family as well, but this is strictly a working break that I believe is somewhat spiritual as well. Your post made me think more about doing this! Hope you enjoy your vacation!

Good morning Charles, I have to agree with Jane above. Like you I am currently on vacation but am on here because this is part of my morning "routine" and I like it:) Following an organized path throughout the day works for me.

I find that when I'm away if I can at least review my emails, it makes for a less chaotic return home.  I also realized when I was on vacation last year that I blogged more and enjoyed it more because I was so relaxed.  I did not feel stressed in any way.

I do, however, keep an eye on the phone calls.  I keep those to a minimum when I'm away.

Jane, I am nothing if not a routine person.

Charlene, I tend to just put my head down and run hoping to catch up.

Maco, Love my work, just tend to take on too many projects.

Chris, I did not take any phone calls, but I did keep up the blog and with emails.
