MORTGAGE MARKET UPDATE
The July 2011 Mortgage Bankers Association quarterly forecast product for the 30-year fixed rate mortgage has rates trending upward through 2012. The average forecasted rate for quarter ending June 2011 remained unchanged from previous forecast to 4.7 percent with rates for quarter ending 2011reduced to an average 5.0 percent.
Rates for the 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 4.52 percent nationally for the week ending July 21st. The national average for 30-year fixed rate mortgage ticked upwards a mere 1-tenth of a point from the previous week's rate. Rates through local lenders vary from the national average.
