I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

I've read and posted my fair share of rants venting about things that bother me and get on my nerves. I thought I would just drop something a bit more positive.

I'm gonna keep it short and sweet. Where would we be in this crazy world without the people we love and who love us. I just returned from a great dinner with my family and a great friend of ours. You see, this friend is very special to us. She was married to my best friend who would have turned 41 years old this past Thursday. Yes, I am implying that he is no longer with us. He passed away in October very suddenly and unexpectedly leaving a wife of 16 years and a 6 year old adopted daughter in their 18 month old home in the North Richland Hills suburbs of Dallas, TX.

As we talked, I remembered just a few short months ago spending much time with her as she searched for a home here in West Monroe, LA to be closer to friends and family. We also talked about other people in our lives that were struggling in one way or another and how she is helping them. I thought also about the things she has done to help us.

Relationships are paramount to a healthy life. Take care of the people in your life. You never know when it may be you that has to get by with a little help from your friends.
