It is time for Fall Activities!
The Taylor County Fair is going on this week, and I haven't been yet, but I just might particularly if that would make it rain.
One of my favorite places to visit in Abilene is the ZOO! One year we went on the 4th of July and the temperature wasn't too bad. Here we are clear to September, and not been to the ZOO this year. September will be the month to go.
A highlight of the Abilene Zoo is feeding the giraffes There is a foot bridge that gives you the advantage of being above the giraffes and you just hold out your hand the giraffe sticks out his tongue and grabs the food. These giraffes are not shy at all!
The gift shop has neat photographs of the animals that are available for framing. I got a zebra print one year and have even staged with it.
HERE'S ONE OF THE ZEBRA AT THE ABILENE Z00.
Everywhere I go I see something to stage with!
Now that the weather has moderated, should see more people walking in the parks. Abilene has several nice parks for outdoor activities and of course SPORTS.
My favoite place to walk is Redbud Park and it is a mile and half if you want around the perimeter of the park.
My next favorite because it is closer to my house is Rose Park. It has a half mile walking path.
HERE IS A PHOTO OF ROSE PARK WALKING PATH:
Rose Park has a skate park, a playground, a sand volley ball court, tennis courts, and of course picnic tables.
