And no matter how clean it is, the buyers usually talk about the dirt that they found.. so work really hard and give them less to talk about!

Jim - Please make all checks payable to the "Craig Rutman Early Retirement Fund"!!!

Debbie -Thank you Debbie! Even I was laughing when I worked on this one!

Anita - Fortunately in this one I AM the handle.... Otherwise that's a big time ouchy!

Peter - I do try to incorporate all three in my marketing. It doesn't always work, but I'm glad I hit the mark this time.

Laura - You hit the nail on the head in your comment Laura. "Clean like you're having the pastor over for dinner". One of my clients followed your expert advice and, after a bunch of bad feedback from showing agents, the problem was resolved, and the home is now under contract!

Amy - I want to see pictures of the Tan Man and you cleaning up like that!!!

Carol - Now that would be a real hit if it could!

Kerrie - I used to wear overalls (not like those though) back when they were all the rage! I loved having all the extra pockets for my "stuff"!

Craig,

Boy, all those endorphins from your Dirthday week are going strong:-)

Clean is critical for sale or for lease.  I know it's even more important for lease listings - as folks will put up with a quirk but not dirt!  (At least at the high end price points!)

All the best, Michelle

Wanda - And you wonder why I have issues!!!

Andrea - Oh, Andera, I've been "around the bend" for a long time now!

WIN - You're welcome!

Linda - When I'm Emperor of the Universe, there WILL be a national holiday honoring Pig's Knuckle, Arkansas! And, just in case you don't know where Pig's Knuckle is, you can find it here, along with some other useful links.

Norma - Exactly! Dirt included is NOT a good selling feature!

Ed - Whatever do you mean Ed?!!!

Jerry - You know me Jerry; always presenting the "Lighter side of Real Estate". I missed the memo that said we couldn't have fun doing what we do, while still getting the job done... and done right.

Judi - It's inevitable Judi. Buyers will find anything they can to knock a few dollars off the price. And rightfully so if it's an issue that's going to cost them money to repair... or, in this case, clean.

Michelle - I'm still recouperating from my "Dirthday"!!! But you make a valid point Michelle. If it's clean there's one less thing for buyers or renters to negotiate over.

Craig, My floors could use a good buffing! Could you swing by or do you have any brothers that live around here? This could be just the motivation I need for some fall cleaning! LOL.

Craig Rutman, Your client was wonderful to work with and ready to make the necessary changes.  It was your many years of experience in Real Estate, your expertise in marketing, pricing and negotiating in the Raleigh/Cary/Apex area of NC that got that home under contract!  If this were a concert, I'm just your back up singer.

Laura - All true! But your assistance in speaking to my client definitely aided in getting the home in tip top showing condition, resulting in an eventual sale. Thank you!

Craig, Cleanliness is next to Godliness, they say. If that's the case, I entered the home of an angel a few days ago. I viewed the cleanest home I've ever seen. Everything was shine and sparkle. Very impressive, but alas, it did not have the spaciousness my clients were looking for.

Donna - Oh well. Every home can't be for everyone. But at least that one showed the way a home on the market should.
