Things That Sellers Forget When Listing Their Home For Sale in Gig Harbor
I have been meeting with many Sellers lately and there seems to be a consistent problem with their homes...
CLEANLINESS & FIXING OBVIOUS PROBLEMS
You would think this wouldn't be that big of a problem, but everyone has their own idea of what clean is. They also don't understand that your home has to be problem free! No UN-finished projects. I always go through the same routine right before I list their home. I tell them to CLEAN, FIX, AND CLEAN AGAIN. But it seems that when it comes time to take photos or put the home on live or that wonderful first Open House, it's still in disarray. I understand that certain situations may prevent you from doing these things. You hired me to take care of marketing and getting your home sold, then you should hire the necessary professionals for cleaning and finishing up projects if that's what it takes.
When Buyers walk into a home that is dirty or in disrepair they automatically think that you haven't been taking care of the home. It screams...
IF THEY HAVEN'T KEPT IT CLEAN, WHAT ELSE HAVEN'T THEY DONE?
Keeping your home clean is the easiest and cheapest thing you can do that will make a huge difference.
So if you are a Seller who is thinking about putting your home on the market think about this before you do. This is usually a step that gets shoved to the back burner, but in reality, needs to be the first thing you think about. Putting your home on the market is a process. You shouldn't just wake up one morning and throw the sign up. If you need help trying to figure all this out then call me today!
