This weekend gave us beautiful weather on Saturday, with the sun shining and cool temperatures which encourages us to go for a long motorcycle ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We are so fortunate to have such beautiful roadways at our disposal. The leaves have'nt changed much at home, but take a look at what we saw after getting above Asheville. It is always so picturesque to view the different elevations. We drove all the way to Mount Mitchell State Park and back. It was just over 100 miles round trip, but very much worth the ride. After receiving many calls and emails from clients questioning when the leaves will change, I decided to go out and document the leaves for those who can't make the trip right now. Our peak is typically the middle of October when the leaves are at their most brilliant of colors. The valley passing Chunns Cove is very much green and showing no signs of change just yet. Then once we were out of the area above Asheville, WOW! The colors just popped. So many reds, golds and peach colored leaves. Many people describe the mountains as a patchwork or quilt. This holds so true for all we saw on Saturday. The colors were so varied and brilliant, it did look as though someone put each of those trees in thier place and created the masterpiece that we saw.
