VA Loans for Fort Leavenworth
I'm a big fan of the VA loan, As a mortgage lender, I try to get the word out about these loans as much as possible. Veterans sacrifice so much for us - and this is one great program that can help "give back" to them, in a way.
If you're a veteran looking for a way to get your own home for you and your family the VA Loan is the way to go! If you're a Realtor reading this, when you're showing homes to a veteran and his/her family, make sure to remind them of this great benefit!
Here's a quick look at VA Loans:
The VA benefit means that a veteran can use a DD214 to purchase a home, and receive 100% financing. Very few loans offer this great incentive anymore, and especially one that comes with no PMI (Premium Mortgage Insurance). Most loans require a down payment (FHA is 3.5%) but with a VA Loan not having a down payment is a huge benefit! Veterans must be able to prove eligibility and qualify with their credit score - which a mortgage lender can help with.
Credit Score for VA Loans
It is important to know, however, that even with the VA loans, credit scores do matter. A veteran must qualify with a 620 credit score and be honorably discharged from the military in order to use this great financing. However, don't let poor credit stop you and your client.
