Where in the world is Walnut Shade?

It's a question that I've heard all my life. People that live here don't even know! Everyone loves the name, kind of like the old TV show Evening Shade? they say. It is very quaint & beautiful located just 10 min. away from the more famous Branson, in the northern side of Taney county in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. Hwy 65 which was built and cut through the mountains in 1968, making an easy route from Springfield Mo all the way past Little Rock AR.

This area is ideal for someone that wants easy access to Branson and or Springfield. Indians and early settlers first lived here on the banks of Bear Creek and Bull Creek. The area where the two creeks meet formed a small trading village called Walnut Shade. These two creeks our still known to be the cleanest rivers in Missouri and are a great spot to cool off in the summer!

Here you can still find the black walnut trees, cedars and huge oaks that thrive in our Missouri limestone. Walnut Shade is now home to many horse ranches, private estates and large tracts of untouched land. It's one of the best kept secrets of best places to live since it is only a ten minute drive south to the live entertainment capitol, and it provides Branson schools for our children. Check out my blog later this week as I will be adding my listings in Walnut Shade!

Nice tour. The first time I went to Branson we could only find one place open to eat. That was in the 70s. How times have changed. I worked for a company in Harrison,Ark and went there about 50 times.
