No Doom and Gloom In Alaska.... The Truth is....

For all those who think Alaska is suffering from a bad market  read on....

According to RealtyTrac.com, a foreclosure listing service,

Alaska has one of the lowest rates of foreclosure in the nation.

There are currently 175 foreclosure properties in the state: one in every 1,573 housing units received a foreclosure filing in November, 2011.

The overall national figure is much higher: one in every 579 units received a foreclosure filing in November, 2011.

Within Alaska, Anchorage has the highest number, with 124 new foreclosures.

The Mat-Su Valley is second with 30.

 The entire Kenai Peninsula ranks third with 10 new foreclosures currently.

Thanks for the info. One foreclosure for every 1573 housing units is a much lower figure then the national average.

You are absolutely right Debra; it is much worse elsewhere.  I'm pleased that my Alaska is doing better.  When are you going to send me a CD of all of these great photographs?  ;-)

Debra, certainly happy to hear how low Alaska's foreclosure rate is.  And what a fantastic photo of the Eagle...I've seen a few in Illinois and into Wisconsin, but never up close like that...great shot.

Great information Debra, awesome photo also.  I was in Alaska visiting a few years ago and am 

itching to come back , we drove from Boca Raton ,Fla. to Anchorage and then followed the

pipeline all the way. It is incredible.
