Procrastinators take note; Federal Income Taxes due April 17th
Can you tell us why not on April 16th? April 15th the normal due date falls this year on a Sunday, so you would think your taxes would be due on Monday April 16th, but this year that is not the case. Why is that you ask?
I'm not going to tell until I get at least 10 comments.

Is it because of Leap Year? That is what came to mind Kenneth. I'll come back to see all the other answers!
The reason goes back over 150 years, but any extra time will always be appreciated.
Nice try Wanda; Leap Year does give us an extra day, but has nothing to due with April 16th.
Good morning Ed; You are correct, you know the answer. Did you look it up or are you just exceptionally brilliant?
Ken, we had dinner Sat with some friends, one of which was an accountant and it was one of the useless things on teh table, but being considered exceptionally brilliant is never a bad thing.
