Foreclosures!!! I know, they're nothing new, but here are new stats...

Nevada ranks number one again in the percentage of increase in foreclosures.  Foreclosures for the third quarter of the calendar year were up 33.9% from the previous quarter and 212% over the previous year.  I say we are NOT going to come out of this by Spring.  Anybody care to wager?  Just kidding.  Nevada is leading the pack with 1 in every 61 homes in foreclosure.  But, don't think this is an isolated trend.  There were only three (that's 3) states that did not report an increase in forclosures for the same quarters.  Those are Oklahoma, Louisiana and Utah.  Hmmm...Utah's not so bad, and it's not far away...NAH, there's no place like Vegas baby!!!

Great information, I'm just seeing your post.  Where did you get the information from -- what report? I'd like to keep up with California.

Lowell,

It looks like you're going to be busy until about 2012 by my calculations my friend ;)

There are a couple of sources that you can go to Rosemary to find these statistics.  Here's a great one by Realty Trac who typically has the most up to date and closest-to-accurate foreclosure statistics nationally-speaking.

Sorry Rosemary, I've been swamped lately and have not set aside time to blog.  I really enjoy it, so I'm going to have to squeeze time into my schedule for it.  I got those stats while I was at a conference last month.  REOMAC has the state-by-state stats.  There's a link on the right side of their home page that will take you to those stats.  Another cool site, if you haven't seen it yet is www.ml-implode.com   It show a list of all the lenders that have gone under.  Interesting stuff.  And, of course RealtyTrac as Dan said.  Thanks for jumping in there Dan.  How have you been?  Things are picking up swiftly out this way.  Thanks again for all your help.  I really appreciate it.
