On December ninth from 3PM till 9PM my church Lafayette Federated is holding a prayer vigil for cancer victims. All of the pastors from the county chuches have recieved letters inviting them and their congregation to attend. If you can,t attend we have sent forms to fill out names of people to pray for.I don,t know a person alive that does not know someone suffering from cancer and am asking everyone I know to be a part of this.
Just because you can't make it to New Jersey doesn't mean that you can't take a few minutes to offer someone you know with cancer up to the Lord. This entire country is in need of a revival and I can't think of a better way to get started. If you don,t think praying is enough to make a difference you might want to try fasting and praying.
I heard a very interesting sermon on fasting the other day. I don't want to go into all the biblical applications, thats for another blog but one thing he said stuck with me. The fast should not befor yourself, your should be offering it up to the Lord in order to ask his blessing on someone else.
To someone who spent 30 years workingin kitchensand who made picking an art form, fasting is not the easiest thing for me to do. But this week I offered up my fast for two people who'm Ihave been praying for and I prayed for them throughout the day and it went so well that I was seriously considering going for two days next week.
If you truly do have faith and your Christianity means more to you than just service on Sunday than you can start the revival. One person at a time we can make a difference. Cancer today and then who knows whats next.So if you can put aside a few minutes on Sunday Dec. 9th, pray for someone you know who has cancer. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
GOD BLESS YOU
