“I love this frickin’ view” he kept saying. Why not? The mountains of Western North Carolina is one of the most beautiful areas in the world and the frickin’ views from the cabins the buyers were looking at ARE amazing.

This has been a good day that actually started last weekend. The reason that we are working with these great buyers this weekend is because I answered my cell phone on a Saturday afternoon and was agreeable to putting together a list of cabins that these buyers could do drive bys until I could meet with them on the following morning.

My message to the agents these folks either never got a return call from…or got a milk-toast response from…well, let’s just say NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH!

You missed out on intentional, motivated and focused buyers. If that doesn‘t sting enough, those agents also missed an opportunity to get to know warm, witty, intelligent and creative people. Real estate business starts and thrives through developing lasting relationships. This couple will never forget being rebuffed by the agents willing to ignore the opportunity that they presented.

As a result, I spent the day with two buyers who were enthusiastic about their chance to buy a piece of the mountain dream…a cabin in the woods. Tomorrow we’ll finish up looking at the rest of the available cabins and have fun & laughter doing it.

So, agents…continue to ignore prospective business calls on the weekend. Go ahead, because all you are doing is making us look really good.

Tomorrow? I’m taking my camera and these buyers to Franklin. Together, we’re all going to “love these frickin’ views”!

WOW Mona, Great for you and I concure comepletly. I am open for business whenever clients need me.That would be day or evening, Sunday through Saturday. I put another listing in escrow today and my seller thinks I just do magic with very short listing times. But it really has more to do that I am available when perhaps others arn't. I live by the belief that the harder I work, the luckier I get.

Amen Brother William!  I'm embarrassed for those other agents...no I'm not, really it's their own fault.  Have a great weekend.

Life is about choices. One agent chooses poorly and another wisely. Wise choice Mona! Enjoy your day!

Mimi, I AM so frickin' proud of myself!  They called on a Saturday afternoon and I was in the middle of some vital household function...don't even remember what...but the woman who called sounded so nice and sincere that I went ahead and did the search for her.  I emailed her and her husband a link to several houses that sounded like what they wanted, arranged them in geographical order and asked them to let me know which held special interest to them.  They were leaving the following day to go back to Charlotte so we agreed to meet at the office at 9am.  Those other agents?  They snoozed and loozed!

Kathy, let me know if you are licensed to work in NC and I'll add you to MoonDancer Realty's list of preferred service providers.

Wayne, I flashed on David Carridine's Kung-Fu show when I read your comment.  I loved that show.

Roger, I get the feeling that even if I couldn't accommodate this couple by meeting them before they left town we could have established some kind of relationship and would have met in person a couple of weeks later.  I'm glad I did answer the phone.

Amazing story Mona.... Congrats to you. I answer my phone at all weird hours of the day. People are actually stunned when it happens as they expected a machine. I tell them I answer my phone whenever I can and return calls as soon as possible. It has definitely been an asset to my business over the years.

Good for you .. and the views... spectacular. Enjoy the process with these nice people! I'm sure it will be extra sweet!

Janis, I will admit to not always being able to answer my phone immediately but I do answer as soon as I can.  This process with these particular buyers is especially nice because all of the dimensions are there....humor and focus in particular.

Mona - you gotta love this story, one you will treasure.  I also answer my phone at all hours too if I can.  You never know who will be on the other end and what great opportunity you may miss by not answering.  BTW - love the view!

Good morning Mona. Sounds like a celebration to me. Why have a phone, if you don't answer it? Great view both actual and rhetorical. Enjoy the day.

Fricking Suggested, Mona!  Lesson well-presented and lesson well-learned.  And exactly the way I feel when 9 to 5 big bank lenders aren't available at night and on weekends ... I say thank you very much ...

We all make our choices in life. Who's to say one is better than the other. It depends on your priorities. I would definitely say yours is most lucrative, though.

Sheila, you always distill the subject down to its purest form, lol.

Leslie...I'm sure I have no idea what you are talking about.

Gene, thanks for the feature.  The lenders I like working with the best are the ones who make it clear to the clients that their calls are always welcome, no matter what time that happens.

Jill, this is true and I don't judge the choices the other agents made.  All I say is NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH.

LOL Andrea...it is a frickin' amazing area and I'm pretty lucky to be here.
