Points for comment on blogs

By
Real Estate Agent with KELLER WILLIAMS BATON ROUGE

I just noticed the last couple of times that I have commented on other blogs I havent been getting the normal 10 points.  Has anyone else noticed this lately.  Or am I just missing something here?  If anyone has had the same issue please let me know.

Thanks again  for any help.

Jennifer,

In order to get points for a comment the comment has to be at least 50 characters in length I believe. I took a look at a few of your recent comments and they don't appear to meet that threshold. I hope that helps explain it..........

I never knew there was a character limit. I guess that helps to weed out the people saying "great post" just to get points. Gosh, I'm going to have to add to my "great post" comments! :)

A well moderated group, like this one, will edit out self serving comments without value - as you should on the strings you start.

I am the moderator for this group and I routinely delete sef-seving comments and incorrect advice.

There are alot of very ill-qulified self-serving experts around here.

It is a blog, check your facts before taking anybody's advice.

Jennifer, on my list of comments, one of them has a note after it, within parentheses, and it says no points were awarded because the comment was less than 50 words (not characters).

Sallie,

I just went and took a look. That is actually after one of your posts not one of your comments. Posts need to be at least 50 words to get scored, comments need to be at least 50 characters.

Thank you so much for clearing that up for me.  Can you tell me what it means to get points for linking?  Is there a help file somewhere that explains the point system?  Thanks.

Sallie,

Scoring FAQs (please note that we no longer award points for adding communities to localism, but this page has yet to be updated in the regard)

That is the best we have right now. You are free to send me a contact through the contact form on my profile if you have specific questions.

What I don't get to say: OH Reatlor (R)  on this one?

This comment is actually differed from most of the others on my scavenger hunt today... I am of course quoting Tom D. who left the comment right before me...  and I have altered my signature (link to my ActiveRain profile page) to see if calls to action and dollar signs are the key to commenting success.  Temporarily anyway.
