Do you remember this past Saturday when I told you that most of my values, interests and affection for different types of music were formed in my late teens and are still a vibrant part of my life? One of the rock groups I liked listening to was Focus … pretty loud and hard core rock from classically trained musicians.
Thijs van Leer, in addition to his work with Focus, also branched out and recorded some fabulous classical music albums. This was the cover from one of his Introspection albums in 1969.
So, you can see my musical tastes were all over the place when I was a teenager…rock, blues, jazz, folk and classical and they remain free ranging.
If you haven’t yet participated in the Group, Music on Mondays…I wish you would. Not only would there be interest from the other music lovers in ActiveRain but you might be surprised who else you might connect with. Our clients and friends often will mention they liked the selection offered up in the Monday Melodies post. Those personal connections we maintain with those who surround us … sustain us and pardon the pun (not really) who knows what will strike the best chord with someone!
