Home values in Baltimore city rise 25%

This is the headline of an article in today's Baltimore Sun.

The article is really talking about the newest round of tax assessments. They are up about 25% from the last time they were revalued in 2004.

What do you think about this article and the city's prospects vs other MD counties? It's hard for me to see my taxes going up as a good thing, especially since we already have the highest tax rate in MD. At least we get a great school system in return.

Personal note: My middle school and my zoned high school (that thank God I tested out of) are both now boarded up. I got out just in time!

Geez.  That's not home values, that's assessed value.  Another word for higher real estate taxes in the area of Maryland that is already the highest.

I know, luckily my tax assessment is still way under market value!
