Taft Street Realty presents, Wordless Wednesdays. A picture is worth a thousand words, so every Wednesday we'll post a photo from the Hudson Valley Region. Other than a brief description, (sorry, we just can't help ourselves!) we'll let the images speak for themselves! Enjoy...

New Paltz Regatta

What the...?! Giant bunnies on Main Street New Paltz NY? Just another spring Sunday in this fun and bustling Hudson Valley town. The New Paltz Regatta is a zany boat race held annually on the Wallkill River. Homemade boats with creative and colorful themes race, bob, and occasionally sink into the Wallkill. This event is great for the whole family! It features a parade and free ice cream for the kids, and live music, great food and drinks provided by local businesses like the Gilded Otter Brewpub (pictured on the right) for the adults! The Regatta follows an old, local SUNY New Paltz tradition from the 50's when students would race homemade boats down the Wallkill just for kicks. Nowadays it's a full blown downtown New Paltz extravaganza and just one of the many reasons why homes for sale in New Paltz are so popular among families, young people, and New Yorkers who enjoy (and of course participate in) these fun, hometown activities.
