I called it affectionately The Bucket. It was a old little Civic, my first car here in the US.
I think it was white -- at least at one point in it's distant past. Maybe beige, hard to tell...
Tiny, noisy old stick shift that would shake violently at speeds over 40. But it did get me from point A to point B.
Most of the times. If it was within ten miles. And if I had enough cash for gas.
Those were the good ol' days of my humble real estate beginnings. Like that listing appointment...
So there I was, in my dark, snazzy suit (from K-Mart), red tie (the ONLY tie I owned), rolling in style to my listing appointment in the Bucket. I parked the Bucket a block away so the sellers won't get a heart attack.
Smiles, hand-shakes, pleasantries.... Nice, friendly people. Good property. Less than hour later I walked out with a signed contract. Ecstatic (getting a good listing, man it never gets old, you know).
I got into the Bucket, turned the key.... And nothing. Not a peep. Just dead. Great! No what? No pay phone (remember, this was before cell phones)... And WALKING home was not an option, either.
So embarrassed, I went back to the sellers and asked for a push. We did have a big laugh about it all when we closed. The dead Bucket became our ongoing joke. "Don't worry, we can always give you a little push," the sellers teased me.
But you know, there was one HUGE thing I got out of that experience. Getting a good listing is NOT about a fancy Benz, a Rolex, Armani or Gucci -- those are nice but they will NOT get you a listing.
The real reason I got that listing -- and hundreds more was because of one thing:
TRUST. The sellers liked me and trusted me.
And I will show you how YOU can do the same thing. How to get bunch of listings, even if you drive a Bucket like I used to ;)
Because it's ALL about WHAT and HOW you communicate with prospects and clients. That's it. That's the whole secret (no matter what the "gurus" and "experts" are trying to sell you).
It's all about what you say. And how you say it. I'll teach you.
How To Communicate with Confidence
