Going Fishing this Summer!
This is an entry for the Positive Attitude for the Weary Soul Group Contest! | Fun in the Sun While the Business Still Runs! Join in on the Challenge!
We all need that balance in our lives and in our business, so this summer, my wife and I plan to have some summer fun in the Sun back on the coast in Corpus Christi, Texas. Going down to Corpus every summer for a fishing trip used to be an annual event for the whole family, but we sort of got away from our little fishing trips after my daughter graduated from college.
Now, with summer fast approaching, and the need to find some balance between this increasing real estate business, and our personal lives, I think a “fishing trip” to the coast would be right on time. My wife loves to go fishing for crabs, since they are one of her favorite fish dishes, but I prefer the other saltwater fish like the drums and snappers. I enjoy going on those piers in Corpus Christi, and fishing all day, or until I feel that I have had enough Fun in the Sun.
I am very fortunate to have an office partner, who will be minding my real estate business while I am away of my fishing trip. We have developed this great relationship over the years, that we often cover for one another during our vacation times. I will normally prepare special folders with all my listings, and a list of all my buyer clients. Naturally, I inform the office that I will be out for a specific time, and give them Andy’s name as the person, who will be covering my real estate business while I am gone. Plus, I notify all my clients that Andy will be my point of contact while I am away for a few days, and that he will be able to assist them with any of their real estate needs.
Yes, I will be having some Fun in the Sun while my business is still running back at the office. I may even take my golf clubs along just in case I decide to have more Fun in the Sun at the local golf courses in the area. Always nice to see some new challenges with my golf swing. Every golf course is very unique for anyone, who loves to play the game.
Hi Jerry, great going ! Time out to relax and fish ,enjoy a few leisure days away from the
office and NOT thinking about business.
We all need time to regenerate "our batteries ". Have fun.
Hey Jerry,
We've never been to Corpus Christi but have heard it's wonderful and it's on our to do list! I look forward to seeing your post vacation post and photos! It may light a fire under us to just go now :)
Jerry, good for you!! Finding some balance in this crazy, beautiful world is so important and so is having the right partner who can cover for you. Otherwise there might not be much relaxing and "fun in the sun"!
I used to go fishing quite a bit years ago. San Francisco bay was full of stripped bass and salmon and you could catch a limit pretty quickly. It's really relaxing to spend a day on the water and to be able to bring home dinner is a bonus.
Jerry, enjoy Fishing with your wife and definitely plan some golf outing too. Have a wonderful day.
Yes, Anita. I would love to know that my business is in Good Hands while I was relaxing on vacation. It better not to take your business with you on those vacation. "Leave the office work at the Office".
Thanks, Barbara. It's great to know that we both enjoy fishing. I do miss going out on the Lakes too. Have a Great Day!
Yes. Debbie, I will be trying to catch dinner. My wife loves to do all the cooking, and I will be doing the fishing.
Yes, Paula. I will remember to keep my camera handy. I might be getting a New Nikon soon too.
Thanks, Evelyn. I have always been told it's not a good idea to do business while you are on vacation, and I am fortunate that I have someone whom I trust to take care of things while I am gone for a few days.
Yes, Brenda. That's why I want to get back down to the coast since we haven't gone fishing in years too. It should be a lot of Fun.
Thanks, Beth. I appreciate you and Richard wishing be a Great Time while I am gone on vacation.
Hi Kevin, I learned to "Delegate" while I was in the service. It can be scary, but we all need to get away sometimes. I know you will find a way to get some balance this summer. Have a Great Day!
Yes, Irene. These old batteries will give out sooner or later, and I know it's time for some regenerating and relaxing too.
Yes, John, if you enjoy fishing, Corpus and Padre Island are two great places to go. Plus, the beaches on South Padre are nice too. I plan to take photos and blog about it on my return.
Yes, Andrea. I believe we all need to get away for a few days in this business. I am Bless to have someone looking out for things while I am out. Vacations should be fun and relaxing.
Hi Doug, I think you owe it to yourself to get back out there on the bay in San Francisco and relax by doing some fishing, and bringing on the catch for dinner.
You got it, Eileen. I will put those clubs in the trunk just in case. I know I can find the time to play a few holes, and still enjoy some fishing too. Have a Great Day!
Jerry, great vacation idea and easy way to fish differently. Hopefully, the fish will not be on vacation too!
LOL, Emily. Let's hope the fish are waiting for me when I go down to the coast. It will be a Fun Time.
