Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a safe and happy transition into 2008.  Wasn't it just yesterday we were worried about the Y2K scare and if our computers were all going to blow up?  I can't believe the first decade of the millennium is nearly gone already!!

So December was pretty much a "bunk" month with little real estate activity (comparatively) here in the Portland area.  But I'm getting geared up for positive changes to our local market, which obviously has not been hit as hard as other areas of the country.  Already, I've had a showing on one of my listings!!  Feel free to browse My Website and refresh your memories with what I've got listed.  The more exposure the better!!  You might just think of someone who might be interested!

I've been very active of late working with the East Metro Association of Realtors (EMAR) Public Relations Task Force.  The purpose of the committee is to counter the negative press the real estate market has been getting the past few months and provide helpful and valid information about why it's a great time to buy!  We've been working on some templates for all agents in our association to use on the back of their flyers.  If you're out there and see any "Did You Know" information with the EMAR logo on it, I was part of that and I'd love to hear that you've seen it AND what you think of it!!  I've provided quite a bit of the statistical information for these flyers in past e-mails but more is sure to follow!

I'm also signed up at MHCC to take a Website Creation class beginning next week using Adobe Dreamweaver.  So I'm trying to improve my already techno-savvy skills and will hopefully be able to do some fun and exciting stuff with my weekly communication and Website in the weeks to follow.  I love dabbling in Photoshop too-doctoring photos...adjusting lighting and color in listings...removing wrinkles and red eye from portraits...not to mention adding or subtracting people if necessary!  I might be game to working on developing other sites for folks too once.  My brother-in-law, who has a trucking business, has mentioned some interest.  If you might like taking such a class, drop me a note or give me a call.  It's Tuesday and Thursday, 1:10 to 2:30pm.  Because I'm not a CS major, I needed instructor permission to take the class.

It's all about being Pro-Active as I see it!!  And as you know, I'm not a sit-on-my-hands-and-wait-for-something-to-happen type!!
