In a time when transparency from governmental entities is a concern for many, the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) shines. The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts rates schools districts on financial transparency and the amount of information provided to the public and online. For the third year in a row, CFISD received the highest award possible . . . the Leadership Circle Award. CFISD received 18 of 20 possible points to earn this award and 8 of 8 points to earn the gold designation.
CFISD also received a grade of A- for the 2012 Sunny Awards which is a contest that recognizes financially transparent websites nationwide. Criteria reviewed for the Sunny Awards are posting of meeting agendas and minutes, budgets, audit records, district accountability information and employee pay scales.
