I know this may seem minor compared to some of the catastrophic events that are occuring but CHECK your INSURANCE IF FOOD SPOILED IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR OR FREEZER, due to an electrical outage. I have heard that some homeowners and renters may have INSURANCE coverage in their policies. Deductibles may not be involved.

Make a call to your INSURANCE Company. It's worth a try and Good Luck!

Excellent advice! A couple years back my Alabama In Laws lost all the food in the freezer and refrigerator when a huge tornado hit their area. They were covered. In bad situations every penny counts.

Also another thing to check is loss of use. If you don't have you can add for relatively an inexpensive premium. Got reimbursed of $1500 on one of the Hurricanes. the rider was cheap.
