1.75% of the earth is covered with water

 

2. The average person in the United States uses 80 to 100 gallons of water each day.  During Medieval times a person only used 5 gallons per day.

 

3. It takes 2 gallons to brush your teeth, 2 to 7 gallons to flush a toilet, and 25 to 50 gallons to take a shower.

 

4. At birth, water accounts for 80 percent of an infant’s body weight.

 5. The United States uses 346,000 million gallons of fresh water daily.

 

6. More than 13 million households get their water from their own private wells and are responsible for treating and pumping the water themselves.

 

7. About 800,000 water wells are drilled each year in the United States for domestic, farming, commercial, and water testing purposes.

 

8. 65% of the human body is water, 75% of the human brain is water.

 

9. 75% of a chicken, 80% of a pineapple, and 95% of a tomato is water.

 

10. The first water pipes in the U.S. were made of hollowed-out logs.

95% of a tomato is water?  What about watermelon?  

I remember a tip to turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth and you can save lots of water over the days, weeks and years.
