Do You Think Potato Chips Grow On Trees? Lot 93 in Cane Creek Ridge

Do you think potato chips grow on trees?  No, this isn't a diatribe about the squandering of the spud snack or a lecture to conserve your supply...don't worry, there will be no potato politicking on this particular post.

Cane Creek Ridge Entry copyright 2012 Mona GerskySo...anyhow...I was in the Cane Creek Ridge development two days ago.  Cane Creek Ridge is located out in the Blanton Branch area of Sylva, which is between Waynesville and Sylva off of Hwy 74 in Jackson County, NC.  My friend Eva was with me.  She also just happens to be the webwoman for the Cane Creek Ridge HOA AND knows the development like the back of her hand.  She was helping me locate lot 93, which we're getting ready to list today.  Because there is a goodly number of vacant lots on the market, we try to be very selective about the ones we'll agree to list.  The lots need to be in a desireable area, have good features, be buildable and priced at current market value and Lot 93 is all of that.  The thought that there might be a tree on the property with potato chips growing on it is just a bonus!

Lot 93 lays at the end of Quest Ridge in Cane Creek, with a beautifully maintained and wide gravel road leading to it.  The topography is a reasonable grade on this 6.36 +/- acre mountain lot and from the road I could spot a couple of knolls that might make fine house sites for someone's dream home.  After looking at the contours on the aerial map, it looks like there may even be good sites up further on the mountain....it would just depend on how long of a driveway someone is willing to build. The trees all appeared to be hardwoods, I didn't see any pine.  There is a small creek bordering one side, which makes it nice for honeybees to visit and then pollenate the wildflowers.

While I was hiking around the property trying to find some of the surveyor's marks, pins and ribbons I discovered a tree with a great population of mushrooms on it.  In my mind anyway, I discovered them. I guess then that I get to name them.  "Mona Mushrooms" sounded too weird and egotistical plus the visual would be of an instant, constant and immense weight gain...who needs that popping around in one's brain?  I thought the mushrooms looked like potato chips...of course, I was kind of hungry.  Turns out I wasn't hungry enough to sample one just to bestow a name upon them.

In the world that is my own, I believe there is a special tree on Lot 93 in Cane Creek Ridge that potato chips grow on.  Do you suppose that information is a material fact?

Good morning Mona

Your description of Lot 93 in Cane Creek Ridge sounds like a wonderful piece of property.  I had to smile at your title as I was clueless to where potatoes grow until my southern bride informed me of her days on the farm digging up spuds :)  Imagine that..........  Have a great day my friend.

that chips might have a little too much fungus for me.  LOL  It is however very interesting looking.  I'm so glad you had some help in locating that lot... that's my least favorite thing is finding a lot based on other unmarked empty lots...

Hi Mona,

Yes they sure do look like potato chips growing on the trees. Probably a good thing you did not sample them.

Tammy,  those chips would probably not pack on the pounds at all.  In fact, they might be difficult keeping down.

Belinda, If I tried one I might look like this      #   #

Patty, that's what I'm thinking too, lol.

Roger, you are in good company.

Kristin, yeah...they would have ruined my day.

Valerie, it seems like the potato chips would get all dirty that way, lol.

Hi Mona-  it is always good to feast one's eyes on potato chips and Mona's Chips are no less weird sounding than guacamole chips, jalapeno potato chips, baked potato chips and macaroni and cheese potato chips (I made that one up but I bet they are coming).. Mona's chips would be a little salty, with a crisp clean fresh flavor that will want you asking for more! Ha!  Have a great one.
