Millbrook is a small  Village in Dutchess County in the town of Washington.  What I like about the village is that you can walk to mostMerritt Bookstore Millbrook things.  There is a charming diner a place where people meet for coffee; then there is the Merritt Bookstore which holds many book signing events.  As well as several fine restaurant and a great library.  Since the area is popular with second homeowners on the weekend the population swells.

Jennifer-You have real villages in New York. We have them here too but they are more marketing constructs than real live villages from the eighteenth century. The ability to walk so many places to get things done sounds like a real benefit with gas prices being what they are.
