10 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD LIST DURING THE HOLIDAYS
As Realtors we're used to hearing "I'm taking it off the market for the holidays, or I don't want people going through my house during the holidays." As someone who looks forward to the holiday season with family and friends, I get it, really I do.
But, we are finally seeing the beginning of a housing recovery, and in some parts of the country we have extremely low inventory of houses. So, I ask you Mr & Mrs Seller please leave your house on the market for the following reasons:
10 Even though your house will be on the market, you still have the option to restrict showings during the six or seven days around the holidays.
9 January is traditionally the month for employees to begin new jobs. Since transferee's can't wait until the spring to buy, you need to be on the market during the holiday's to capture that buyer,
8 Some people must buy before the end of the year for tax reasons.
7 Buyers have more time to look for a home during the holidays then they do during the work week.
6 Buyers are more emotional during the holiday's, so they are more likely to pay your price
5 Houses show better when decorated for the holiday's.
4 Since the supply of listings will dramatically increase in January, there will be less demand for your particular home. Less demand means less money for you.
3 Serious buyers have fewer houses to choose from during the holiday's and less competition means more money for you.
2 You can't sell a house that isn't on the market.
The #1 reason why Sellers show list during the holiday's....
People who look for homes during the holiday's are more serious buyers!
Let's all have a happy holiday season...and get your house sold!
