I was speaking with a unit owner and they brought up the fact that the condo had decided to CLOSE the South gate. I received a copy of the notice which read.
The recreation center Commitee has unanimously decided to permanently close the south gate that opens onto Burnhamthorpe rd.
The concerns that lead to this decision are:
- The security of the eagle Ridge complex. It has become too expensive to continually repair the gate and leaving it open all the time comprimises your security and
- The danger that Residents face crossing busy Burnhamthorpe rd. at an uncontrolled place.
Although the Commitee realizes that this decision will cause inconvenience for some residents, it was not taken without a thorough discussion of all of the available options. Jan 25th,2008.
Well I can see the concern on both sides but as a driver I constantly see people trying to cross Burnhamthorpe. A task that is difficult at best of times.
