Once again, the Triangle Area has been voted the Top in the Nation! Forbes magazine has voted the Triangle Top 5 in the Country for Tech Companies, and The Human Life Project voted Raleigh as the Top Family Friendly Town in the Country!
Forbes based their rankings on the Triangle area's ability to draw major tech corporations as employers to the region. Companies such as IBM Corp., Lenovo, Red Hat Inc., Cisco Systems and NetApp (Nasdaq: NTAP) are huge employers in the area, and may be the reason why Praxis Strategy Group found the Raleigh-Cary area to be the 5th hottest tech market in the nation.
The Human Life Project based it's rankings as a "measure (of) livability for all ages, including children, young adults and seniors. Balance among the various age groups was a key factor in determining each city’s rank, in fact. So were marital status and growth in the cities’ populations of children, reflecting families forming and then raising children. Housing for families was also a top factor, as were home prices and other basic costs of living."
