Chester County Historical Society is  proud to present Family Day on President's Day, Monday February 18 from 10:00am - 1:00pm at the Historical Society, 225 North High Street in West Chester.Come join us for Old Fashioned Family Fun including Crafts, Toys, Dress Up and Stories! Admission is $10 per family.cchs 11:00am ~ Meet children's author Jen Bryant, author of A Splash of Red, The Life and Art of Horace Pippin 10:00am - 1:00pm ~ All museum exhibits and the History Lab will be open.  An important component to family day is a special kid-friendly presentation by Jen Bryant, author of A Splash of Red: The Life and Art of Horace Pippin. Pippin, acclaimed 20th century African American artist, was a native of West Chester and Bryant's new children's book brings his story to life through vivid imagery and stories.

History On Tap - Music Edition is a special evening with the Dill Pickle Old Time Orchestra on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at The Social Lounge, 6:30pm 29-31 East Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19382. Travel back in time as the Pickle string band plays some good old-time American fiddle tunes, gospel, Tin Pan Alley, and mountain songs from eras gone by, with some local history lessons mixed in from mandolin player and West Chester University history professor Dr. Charles Hardy.History on Tap brings history to you in the casual atmosphere of your favorite local bar or restaurant. And of course, there will be lots of great food and drink available for purchase. The program is free for the community to enjoy!
