Is burning it down the answer??

I was reading an article today on MSN and they where talking about the increase arson reports that are happening nation wide and I find this hard to believe.  I mean what good does it do to burn the house down.  Your still only going to be paid or the banks going to get paid the value of the house at that time.  I've never had a house burn down and I thank my prayers for that but, I don't get it.  Has anybody seen any of these in your area?  Just looking to see the activity that is out there on this subject.

Thanks in Advance

Regardless of what the insurance companies claim to replace, the content value is never compensated after a fire.  Friends of ours lost their home recently to fire and are having to start completely over with a bare minimum amount paid for their home.  It's sad, but true, that some folks will go to any extreme to get out of their home.

Vincent, good question, my answer, no it isn't alright to burn your house down.  You are right, the bank will end up with the money and with the advances in investigative techniques odds are you will go to jail for burning down your house.  As bad as it seems, losing a house isn't the end of the world, in my mind, loss of freedom would be as close as you can get.

Hi there,

Yikes, no not at all. That's the kind of stuff one would be proscuted for, like doing jail time.  If someone feels that strongly about throwing in the towel they just need to call the bank to say "where should I mail the keys?"

Not burned down, but certainly everything but. I have seen some really trashed out homes lately. It is a shame.
