Do People Feel Safe With You?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Safe With PeopleAn insurance friend of mine and I were talking about Open House safety with strangers and he joked with me, the six foot four guy with the beard, they would be more scared of ME than me of them. But then again I am really the gentle one. But there is another kind of safe.

Do People Feel Safe With You?

For the vast majority of people reading you are fine in this department. But some agents are intimidating, brash, don't listen, have terrible communication skills, do not build rapport. What I mean by safe, is clients OPEN up to you as trusted advisor. A very small minority of clients don't open up to ANYONE much, but that is THEIR problem. You must build rapport, trust, have high integrity, do what you say, listen, be very very honest, even drop some of your own vulnerability shields to SHARE EQUALLY

THEN someone feels safe around you. Five foot thin woman or tall man, we all should feel safe with those we work with from a taking care of us perspective.

WORK HARD to always have people feel comfortable with you. It makes all the difference.

Wise post, Gary...always worthwhile to have someone we trust "critique" how we appear to others, in a biz situation.

Gary....once again - GREAT picture!  We always should strive for people to feel comfortable around us.  That is unless our internal alarms are going off about the other person.  In that case, find an exit strategy.

Gary- having a client feel that you are competent and capable is one thing.. but taking it a step further so that they feel safe with you is even better.
